Lyons Ferry Marina Public Input Meeting

We need your input! The Port is working on a new master plan for the Lyons Ferry Marina facility. This new master plan will assist the Port in seeking funds toward updating and modernizing the aging infrastructure at the marina, which was constructed in the early 1970s. Please join us at the Lyons Ferry Marina restaurant on Wednesday, August 23rd at 6 pm to review design options and provide comments and suggestions. Several different layouts for moorages, docks, walkways, boat launches, RV spots, tent sites, etc., will be shown. Food and beverages will be provided. If you have questions, please contact the Port office at 509-382-2577.

I don’t think you realize that a lot of fishing size boats base out of this marina. Every option reduces the number of small boat moorage and replaces it with large slips for cruiser sized boats. This would be a mistake. The number of fishing/ ski boat sized slips should not be reduced at all. Perhaps making the new covered docks with one side large slips and the other side small boat slips could accomplish this. Just don’t reduce the number of smaller slips!

Thank you for your comment, Patrick! We’ve experienced fewer moorage customers on the A dock, which are the smaller slips, while the bigger slips are always full! So we thought the opposite of what you’re saying was true. I appreciate your feedback. Good to hear a different perspective. Thanks.

I’ve been a moorage customer for many years at A dock, those slips were always full until the moorage rates were raised. But I’m still there because I love the place.
