It’s long been a desire to have a trail connecting Dayton and Waitsburg.  Thanks in large part to grants from the National Park Service and WSDOT, we are now in the planning stages and want your input!  Please take a moment to fill out our trail survey, visit our Touchet Valley Trail, and like and follow us on Facebook for frequent updates.  There will be numerous opportunities for public input throughout the process – we hope you’ll participate in all of them!

We’re hiring! Auditor/Admin Assistant Position

Full-Time Position

Salary Range:  $17 – $25 per hour DOQ plus benefits (health, dental, vision, retirement)

 The Port of Columbia, a special purpose taxing district in Dayton, WA, is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Port Auditor/Administrative Assistant.  This is a unique, full-time position that offers a wide variety of work duties, ranging from bookkeeping services to property management.  The Port Auditor/Administrative Assistant works closely with Port staff, commissioners, and tenants to ensure the efficient and lawful management of the Port of Columbia and its properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for administrative and clerical work, financial management and recordkeeping, website and social media updates, coordination with government agencies and business tenants, and assistance with all aspects of property management, including maintenance coordination and tenant lease creation and renewal.  Interested candidates must be able to multitask, show flexibility, and enjoy a wide variety of duties throughout the work day. All work must comply with state auditor’s requirements and the laws governing port districts.
